Peter has specialised in wastewater treatment for nearly 30 years focusing on municipal and industrial markets. He often leads or works as part of multi-disciplinary teams to deliver successful projects that meet client expectations and objectives.

He worked for 7 years extensively on municipal projects throughout Auckland’s northern districts assisting planning engineers with selecting acceptable methods to manage and improve wastewater treatment assets. This progressed into detailed design of primary screening facilities, biofilters, control systems and other facilities.

This work has involved:

• Appearing as a professional witness for resource consent renewals,

• Investigation and comparison of new and innovative treatment methods against accepted practice,

• Process design, detailed design and documentation of numerous treatment system improvements and upgrades,

• Specification and design of odour management facilities (biofilters and physical-chemical facilities),

• Modelling of treated effluent impoundment facilities,

• Peak flow treatment facilities,

• Septage handling facilities,

• Sludge thickening, dewatering and handling,

• Asset renewals and upgrades,

• Control system instrumentation and improvements,

• Irrigation option evaluations

• Commissioning of constructed works, and

• Project management and technical assistance.
